Around May, I got a phone call from Fingerhut saying my bill is overdue. I said I don't have a fingerhut account.

I did notice that for months I have been getting catalogs in the mail but I know how aggressive marketing works so I just put them in the trash. I called them and was transferred at least ten times before I could let them know that I did not open this account. The fraud department said they would annotate the account as fraudulent and I should notify the credit bureau, which I had already done. It is now October and I am still getting phone calls saying "this is an attempt to collect a debt." How do I make this stop?

I can't cope with these phone calls every half hour 7 days a week including weekends and holidays.

The person I talked to today said he would annotate my account that I am unable to make a payment at this time.

That upset me, Why can't you annotate that I did not open this account and I am not paying for goods I did not order? Not to mention, they have not even closed this bogus account yet.

Reason of review: FRAUD.

Preferred solution: Fix it and charge the theif. You have a bank account and an email for that person. Find them, get your money, STOP AGGRIVATING ME!!!!.

I received my bank statement today and noticed a $30.00 payment made to Fingerhut. I, nor my husband have NOT ordered anything from Fingerhut, nor have an account with them.

I immediately called the bank to dispute the transaction. I then googled Fingerhut and found the customer service number and called to inquire about the unauthorized transaction on my bank account. The Fingerhut rep, at my insistence, ran a cross reference with my name, my husband's name, our zip code, and found that no one with that information had an account with them. I stated that I wanted written confirmation to that fact and the lady stated she could not do such a thing.

I then stated I would like to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor, Celine, was not helpful and told me what she COULDN'T DO for me. I then told her to direct my call to the fraud department. Finally I spoke to someone that actually was willing to take my information and hand it over to an analyst.

1. When the initial person realized that no one with my information had an account with them, instead of arguing with me, why didn't she connect me with the fraud department?

2. Upon insisting to speak with a supervisor (Celine), telling her my situation, instead of giving me the runaround, arguing with me, connect me to the fraud department?

3.

I have a problem with people that have accents so thick you can barely understand them, only read from a script, and don't have the common sense to direct you to the correct department.

I am anxious to see the outcome. I only hope that I don't have to go through another whole afternoon on one of my precious days off to be on hold; and insisting on speaking to the fraud department to dispute the unauthorized money taken out my bank account.

I have never ordered anything from Fingerhut, do not have an account with them, and if this is any indication of how they conduct business, I will never order anything from them or open an account with them.
