Hello,

I am writing in regards to my credit account with FingerHut. Back in January I contacted a customer service rep. at FingerHut to find out what the EXACT pay off amount was. The rep quoted me the payoff amount and I wrote and mailed FingerHut a check Paying the acct IN FULL. Then I receive a statement and instead of it reading that I have a zero balance it says I owe $11.00 and then 5 minutes ago I am contacted by Fingerhut to say that amount has now jumped to $25.24. I was taught that when a creditor quoted you a pay off amount and you sent it, then the account would be cleared out and you would have a zero balance. I don't guess this type of honorable pratice applies to FingerHut. I will send them the $25.24 because if I don't i have a funny feeling the amount will just keep growing. I suppose when you send a check or money order for the amount on the statement that's not the true amount huh? This is pathetic business and business ethics. FingerHut will no longer be a company I will do business with.

You should have asked to speak with the manager and put everything in writing. Once you're given a payoff amount, it's only good for a certain amount of days they should have told you how many. Then you should have paid it that same day with you bank with bill pay. I like using bill pay with my bank because it will pay it within a couple of days with no hassles.
