how can you wright this and think its ok?

any amount 1 minute late is a bad thing. When a creditor gives you the opportunity to build credit and you sign or agree to make the payments, its an agreement to make payments ON TIME. Its not like you are borrowing money from your mom (like im sure you do) and you will pay it when you "remember". I bet if your employer didn't give you your check after 4 days you wouldnt be thinking, "its ok, its only been 4 days."

SO PAY YOUR BILLS ON TIME AND DONT COMPLAIN WHEN THEY CALL YOU ASKING FOR THEIR MONEY.

Aaron C Img

Next time pay your bills on time and they won't have to harass you, you lazy, irresponsible d0lt. If you pay late they then have every right to call you until they get their payment.

Fingerhut Electronics

I ordered a desktop computer from Fingerhut. It was junk.

The brand described in the catalog is not what I was sent. I returned it well within the 30 trial period and it cost me $35.00 for return shipping. I called Fingerhut a week later to make sure they had received the return and was told yes, that my account would be credited, so I didn't think anything more of it, until Fingerhut sent the computer back to me two weeks later. I then sent it right back to them.

They sent it back to me. I called them and was told the 30 day trial period didn't apply to electronics/computers, and that I would have to start monthly payments. Long story short, they send me to collections. I made an arrangement with NARS collection agency and paid the agreed balance in full.

Two months later, I get another collection letter from Jefferson Capital telling me THEY represent Fingerhut and they were willing to make a settlement offer. WHAT? I wrote a letter to NARS and asked them why I was sent to another collection company and haven't received a reply. So what now?

Pay the other collection company too?

Fingerhut is nothing but a glorified rip off flea market type business and they lie. I'm way passed mad.

As any food can see. You must not have any Connor cents to have ever ordered anything from them, much less a computer.

Are you out of your mind? You should go get your head examined.

Guest

Thank you for the advice msdup. I have written to Fingerhut since posting the compaint, and my letter was returned "unable to forward".

I had the correct address, too.

I've also emailed NARS and haven't received a response. It's more than frustrating, but I will certainly look into the FDCPA.

Guest

Do not pay the other company, send them a letter of dispute. if you paid in full to the first company you do not pay again it is not lawful for them to sell your debit again. look up the FDCPA that stands for the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act

FingerHut

I am discussed with FingerHut for selling me products that were not even worth the shipping . How can FingerHut even be in business for selling products at high prices, and the products are not even up to standards with the Dollar Store.I will not be satisfied ,until FingerHut makes up for the poor quality products that I recieved. If FingerHut does not well, I will no longer be a customer and I will ADVERTISE all over to whom ever will listen. THis was and is unsatisfactory to do business. Your customer rap, said it right there is nothing he can do but my voice will speak loud and be heard ,I am sorry for this but I can not do anything about it , THANKS FOR NOTHING' MM;OKEECHOBEE

We'll that sounds fair enough, cause you don't know how to spell either. My order that was placed online all went through, called customer service and got the tracking info. Would you like to try that instead?

Not a customer, and recieve 180 calls per month

phone calls,at approximatly 3 per day asking for an unknown person, cannot get thru to a live person(need ss# and Acct#)none of which I have, harassement is way out of line, min of 180 calls per month, their opperation sucks,if they sold items at half price i would not deal with them.this is totally uncalled for ,why dont they verify their customers information before extending credit, and quit harassing people who do not want to deal with them.they are reminesant to a used car dealer, buyer beware to any one dealing with them and their tactics.

Collect Call Received from Fingerhut

I received a collect call from Fingerhut at 11:00pm on Thanksgiving night from Calling Line ID White 1-85*-856-****. When I answered the phone I received a message stating you have a collect call from then it sounded like someone was hurt. Thinking immediately of my daughters and parents that live out of town I said yes. The call was from Fingerhut. I hung up and called AT&T. I have to call the business office tomorrow at 1-80*-288-**** to file a formal complaint, which I will do first thing. I am very upset and disturbed that this company has done this. I have not ordered anything from Fingerhut and nor will I ever order anything from this company with morals such as these.

Jan,Phillips,ME - What part of "I have not ordered anything from Fingerhut nor will I ever order anything from this company...etc" did you not understand? What blooming responsiblity does Anonymous have to Fingerhut, since they have never bought anything from the company? Come on now, think about it.

Guest

Companies have the right to collect a debt by calling anytime but not before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m.

If the bill gets paid, there are no calls. The solution seems simple to me, pay the blooming bill. It is not rocket science. "Anonymous", really?

And.

by the by, it has nothing to do with morals; it has to do with responsibility. Come on now, you can do it.

Didnt send hardware or instructions with the product

I have ordered many things from fingerhut and have ALWAYS been satisfied with everything and have been a LONG standing customer who pays for everything when it is recieved.. but I have had two issues most recently, I bought and paid $99.00 plus shipping and handling for the cast iron pots and pans, I "seasoned" these exactly like the directions said and recently have cooked in them. every thing tastes aweful, like rusty iron.. I gave then to goodwill. I bought a wall organizer recently and recieved it with in 7 days of the order however when I opened it up there was no hardware to be found in the shipment, and no instructions.. I called first thing on the following monday morning to get this sent out only for it to take 3 weeks to get to me, and still NO INSTRUCTIONS were sent.. this infuriated me to no end for a good standing customer like me you would think things would be alot more smooth.. but I considering cancelling my fingerhut account if ANYthing else happens..

I ordered the same set of cast iron pots and pans but did not have any problems whatsoever with them. Maybe you got a bad batch?

Guest

Good luck with trying to cancel your account with them. I have tried for 20 years.

I've sent so many requests by mail that I could have bought a new sofa!

They refuse to close it. You will never be rid of them!!

SO HIGH AT LEAST A 25% MARK UP.

SHIPPING STINKS TOO.

The fresh start program is to extend credit for the first purchase up to the amount they offer, say 200.00. You can purchase up to that amount, anything over you have to add to your first time payment of 30.00 in order to ship.

It is not revolving credit yet, but an initial loan credit amount. Once you pay off the amount (have to at least pay once more after deposit amount and not all at once). You graduate to REVOLVING credit, meaning the credit increase they will then give you revolves based on total credit used.

They report fast so your credit score will go up with the fresh start program as an open account in good standing with your first 30.00 payment, Each monthly payment gets reported as well. Often it's enough of an initial boost to get your score up to get a card like Capital one Journey card.

Guest

This isn't a helpful comment. Fingerhut relies upon creditworthiness just like any other lender.

If they wouldn't approve you for the traditional credit account, it's because of your credit history - not your history with the company. Fingerhut is a massive company that won't just "take your word for it." The $30 is a down payment for the Freshstart program, which can help you move to a traditional credit account with them if you manage to pay it off on time without going late on a single payment.

Pay off old debts, pay down existing credit cards, then reapply. Or do the Freshstart program.

Guest

Not sure if things have changed recently or my case is different, but I got the Fresh Start account and ordered a dog bed. I paid the down payment, waited a week, and then paid off the balance.

It was maybe a week later that my account changed over to the revolving line and my CL went to $300.

I will purchase something and pay it off. I haven’t got my first statement yet, but I’m thinking about leaving a very small balance just so it will show on my credit report.

Guest

You have to go through the payment plan (especially on the fresh start plan). Paying in full defeats the puprose of this type of account.

The whole idea is to make certain one has the discipline to wait it out and commit to making monthly payments over a certain period of time. They do not care that you have the cash available to pay now; if you do, why are you ordering through Fingerhut? This is a revolving credit line and can seriously help to improve poor or even really bad credit. Use it wisely.

They report to the credit agencies monthly, like clock work!

I thank Fingerhut for giving me a chance to repair (and I have) what I had destroyed years ago. I'm back!

I agree. I was able to get an unsecured credit card from capital one just because fingerhut reported a positive and it boosted me a bit up enough to get the journey card.

Guest

Just so ppl know on fresh start. You can't pay in full the first month.

That will reset the agreement. It's in the contract . So first pay the 30 down, then min payment, then the next month can pay full.

It's that easy. I have had no probs.

Guest

The 30 $ was jyst a show of goid faith..the remainder of yoyr purchase would have been in monthly payments..this is hiw all freshstart accounts are done, once you pay off first purchase you get a credit increase and no longer have to make down payments. .

Guest

It was automatily from my bank account

Guest

I paid full price for a knife set. But was charged a monthly pament anyway. When I paid that off I was charged for not ordering again

Fingerhut overcharges me $84.94 for a coffee pot

I bought a coffee pot from FINGERHUT for $79.95 13 months later they say I still owe $50.00 I have paid them $164.94 in the last 13 months for a $79.95 coffee pot. I am 70 years old and they should be ashamed. They claim that the balance is interest owed them. How can they charge over 100% interest in 13 months? I feel any consumer who buys from their easy credit is asking for years of harassment and trouble. They have me on auto-dial and call every two days for more money. They have gotten over twice the price for the coffee maker and are a crooked outfit to deal with.

Do not use Fingerhut

I ordered a item from Fingerhut and Fedex lost it. I was told by the Fedex lady that my order was shipped home delivery not express delivery which is what I was charged for express delivery.

The item has never showed up and I called to tell Fingerhut and the man told me to call back Thursday if the item has not been delivered and then they would do something about it. I will never order from Fingerhut again. I'm still being charged for an item I have never got. I told the man I shouldn't be charged for an item that has not shown up and I shouldnt be charged for express delivery by them when it was never sent that way.

The man seemed not to care and told me to call back on Thursday.

I will never use them again and if the item shows up they will get it back. Do not do business with them unless you want over charged and lost packages.

Fingerhut keeps calling my number and trying to collect on someone who does not live here.

Fingerhut keeps calling my number and trying to collect on someone who does not live here. I keep telling them.

They call every morning around 8 am, sometimes later in the day and sometimes around supper time. At first I was very polite, no, there is no one here by that name. They said ok, will take my number off their list. But they KEEP CALLING.

Sometimes they hang up. This morning after working all night I get a call around 8am and I say "This is Jewel" and she says "Hi, Mrs Malone" and I say yes? And she says "Mrs Malone you are late on your payments." and I yell "for the hundredth time there is no Mrs. Malone Here.

check the *** phone company."

But I know they will still be harrassing me. I have never bought anything from fingerhut and NEVER WILL!!!!!

Shipping fraud

I ordered 3 pair of shoes that did not get to me intime for my event. They were to small and was sent back. The customer rep told me I was still responsiable for $66.00 for the intial shipping. And if I did not pay it I would be charged late fees and they would not make an exception. AND then I restarted to receive calls at work. I did talk to a Supervisor who did not satisfy my complaint and did not care at all. Both of the customer reps I talked to barley spoke english and could care less if I had a complaint.

Terriable product

I purchased an over the sink shelfing unit about six months ago, at first i was happy with my purchase. But three months after, the unit barly stands up,the wood is swollen and falling apart! Ive purchased other items, like my wonderful thirty two pc two tone dinnerware set that im very pleased with! But the wood over the sink shelf unit was a huge let down! I think fingerhut should be held responsiable the bad products they distribute to the consumers at least offer to replace the product with a comparable substitute,or offer a credit towards the next purchase. Just my thoughts!
