They send you a catalog with "preapproval" then you shop, go to order, and say denied. Every time someone pulls your credit it takes points off........

don't do this!! Per all these reviews, most people are denied anyway. Scam........... Not only do they waste your time shopping, but they total "*** you off" with denial.

I'd rather take the cash and shop somewhere else and make sure I get what I want and not get ripped off by these scam artists. Their selections are limited anyway and by the sounds of it, product, shipment and delivery isn't too great either.

You're really much better off. I was approved, and purchased a very limited number nice things. Limited, because they only seem to sell products that have massive, legitimate complaints.

Even if pigs started flying,, they'd still add a minimum of 50% to the retail price; usually, it's 75-100% {guesstimated}. The outrageous shipping rates makes me nauseous. The adjustable APR adds another 50-100% of the retail price.

If you desperately need a high ticket item, it's even worse. So much for "helping" people to re-establish.

But...being approved enabled me to get other, more reasonable cards I can use anywhere. Periodically, we look at portable washers and X-Box/TV bundles, but always decide it would be foolish. We just had another limit raise, so we looked again. and again decided against it--in part because it woi;d max out the account. A week later...SURPRISE!!...another limit raise, and an invitation to look at their "electronic sales"---I know we're followed everywhere, all the time, but that's just *** The funniest part is that every time they raise the limit, it raises my credit score...I get the last laugh 'cuz I'm never buying from Fingerhut again. HAHAHAHA! Regardless, you're still better off using other ways to improve your credit and get a decent card.

Got ANOTHER catalog from Fingerhut, saw some interesting items but nothing really exciting but... they said I was supposedly pre-approved for credit up to $600.00.

My credit was great until I quit using it nearly 20 years ago then paid cash ever since. Even our home! BIG mistake!!! Two years ago I checked my credit report and all it had was my name & address.

No credit is actually worse than bad credit. I had to pay a ridiculous annual fee just to get a $300.00 limit Visa. Anyway I thought if they were selling something I could actually use, I'd apply & boost my pathetic credit score. I found a pretty nice jacket for $200.00 so I ordered it.

Instantly approved for $800.00!

I got a fair deal and hopefully a boost in my credit score. I'm happy.

I am over it.i applied for a Fingerhut credit line"only because of previous denials".Ihad applied for a Sears credit line a Walmart credit line, both denied. My credit scores are as follows-TU-659,EX-653 AND EQ-662 I HAVE A $24,000 loan for my car, which i only owe $17,159 currently.I dont have any derogatory marks or late payments,i make aprox-$50,000 a year and have had the same job and address for 3 years. i just dont understand how i could be denied for "easy financing" with my credit history. As a result all of my credit scores have fallen 5-7 points across the board my credit to debt ration is only 9% which is great.I feel like something is terribly wrong and i cant figure it out.

Fingerhut has such high finance rates, they are about 1/4 th of the total, just a horrible rip-off ! The minute I read their info page, I told them I wouldn't be ordering from them and to stop sending books. :(

:sigh I feel sad about you, talking about such a good company as Fingerhut. If you have had troubles with them is because you didn't understand the terms and conditions and THE SMALL LETERS! what you people have is YOU NEVER READ THE STUFF!

I have very bad credit, and finger hut sent me a pre approval with a small amount of $150. After not being able to get any type of credit card even the prepaid cards.

I called finger hut and I have my credit. After 2 years of ordering from them and paying on time I can now get other credit cards.

I also was able to buy a car because having the finger hut card gave me a big bust in my credit score. :)

Pre approved does not mean approved and just like any credit mailing they are just trying for the people that are vulnerable. I thought about getting this several times but eventually come to my senses again. They don;t sell anything that you must have, they are wants not needs.

Guest

ms.artsy, that was not a nice thing to tell someone, that if their credit score is that bad, they should not be looking.you are a hypocrit, because you applied.and with a credit score of 550.isn't that the pot calling the kettle black.you're at the bottom of the list just like the rest of us with 550 or less credit score.have a blessed day.

Guest

My fiance and I have bought several items from FingerHut and have had no problems. Our credit score was below 550 and we got approved for a 400.00 credit limit.

We have always received all products in a timely manner and everything has always worked and was satisfactory. If your credit score is that bad, you should not be looking for credit anyway.

:? Read the small print in your catalogs.

Pre-approved does not mean approved. It just means they look at your credit report. If you have a low credit score you fall in Fingerhut's target market. They want people with low credit ratings and little to no credit.

Fingerhut does inform you that the interest rate is 24.90%. So Again check out the information before ordering with Fingerhut.

Yes that's what I say, their rate is tooo much, whoever has to pay on a nearly 25% intrest rate each month would about double the cost of the merchandise, OMGosh, :(
